Thought:

The path to partaking of the Love of God is successfully navigated by holding fast to the Word of God. The “Word” can have a double meaning as it can mean both ”the word” as in “the scriptures” and  “the Word” as in Christ. You don’t just wander up to the Tree of Life. Even those who make it there don’t last, unless they got there by holding fast to the word of God. 

Misc:

What is the difference between “clinging” to the rod and “hold[ing] fast unto it?” Why did clingers fall away while those who continually held fast did not? They never perished or succumbed to temptations. What is the difference and what do we need to do to hold fast unto it?
