General Conference Address:

“The Greatest Leaders are the Greatest Followers”  Elder Stephen W Owen CR 4/2016

Thought:

Presiding is about being responsible for a group of things, typically people. That doesn’t mean you’re their boss. It means that you’re responsible for everything that happens to and because of them. Take the blame, give the credit. Own it all. Always ask “What else can I do,” not what can they do for you. Make more leaders by delegating, inviting and holding people accountable.

Misc:

Leadership isn’t about being in charge. It’s about taking care of those in your charge. Like stewardship, it isn’t about you, it’s about what you are responsible for. For one to be a true leader, someone must follow them. Therefore, you might be the person in charge and NOT be a leader.

Invitation:

Review your work as a leader. Identify 2-4 ways in which you should have been more concerned about those you led. Make plans to work on one of those changes and act on it.
