General Conference Address:

Thought:

Jesus said that it’s his work and glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man (Moses 1:39).  He then tells us a little about our work in D&C 11:20: “Behold, this is your work, to keep my commandments, yea, with all your might, mind and strength.” He also sheds some light on our mission: “You shall declare the things which have been revealed to my servant, Joseph Smith, Jun.” Moses was given the mission of liberating the children of Israel (Moses 1:26). Joseph Smith had the mission of beginning the restoration and bringing the Book of Mormon out of obscurity, etc.  We all have a mission and a work to do. Stay close to the Lord, and you can know what you’re here to do also.

Misc:

Why is our work to keep the commandments?  What does that help us avoid? What does it help us qualify for?

Invitation:

Review your patriarchal blessing and create a list of the things that you’ve been sent here to do. Mark them as “obtained”, “in progress” or “yet to come” and see if you can do anything to magnify your work.
