Week 23- No “Meetings”
Scriptures:
D&C 43:8-9
D&C 46:2
Alma 6:6
Moroni 6:4-5
Moroni 6:9
General Conference Address:
“A Teacher Come from God” Elder Jeffrey R Holland CR 4/1998
Thought:
Elder Bednar shared the following in a 2011 Worldwide Leadership Meeting: "If I had the wish of my heart, I would remove from the vocabulary of the Latter-day Saints the word meeting. We have not been talking about a ward council meeting. We've been talking about a revelatory experience with the members of the ward council. And if members of councils, if members of families, as they come together, would think in terms of “I'm preparing to participate in a revelatory experience with my family” instead of going to a meeting—a revelatory experience with the members of the ward council—I think we would prepare and act much differently." https://www.lds.org/broadcasts/article/worldwide-leadership-training/2010/11/panel-discussion?lang=eng
Misc:
It takes a really good meeting to be better than no meeting at all. Time is precious. Create rooms of revelations, not just meeting rooms.
Invitation:
As you prepare for your next “meeting”, consider and ponder on your situations and write down 3-5 questions or challenges that you are having. Bring those questions, along with scriptures and note-taking material, and use the meeting to receive revelation. If you pray for it, prepare for it and participate in it, you can receive answers to your prayer and revelation for your life and stewardship.
