Thought:

When we seek revelation, the more specific we can be in our pursuit, the clearer the answer can be. When we seek revelation with the intent to act, we increase our odds of receiving a timely answer. When we show the Lord that we can be trusted to act on what he reveals, we’re likely to receive revelation more often. The more often we receive revelation, the better we will be at recognizing it.  In Brother Blairs case, he didn’t wait for the typhoon to learn how to use the Holy Ghost. He knew how to use it and was able to ask “What can I do?” not just “protect this ship.

Invitation:

When you are seeking an answer to a prayer, start by doing your homework—asking good questions and researching the best you can.  Then, ask the Lord “What else can I do…”  Listen as you work to see what he will teach you. Then act on it in faith and reflect on the process to see what more you can learn. Then repeat it over and over again! Be as good at receiving revelation as you are at anything else in your life.
