Thought:
The hardest work in this world is the one you try to do without the help of heaven. The easiest work you’ll ever do is the work you do while yoked with Jesus Christ. We must decide each day to take his yoke upon us. When we do so, the promise is an easy yoke and light burden. Plus, you keep pretty good company when you’re working side by side with the Savior. He will pull harder than you ever could. He can last longer than you ever could. He is more effective than you could ever be. He just wants you to join him on the journey so that he can be with you and show you the marvels of his work and creation while helping you become like him. So yoke up, each day. Yoke up with the Savior and decide that his way is the right way. Then, get ready for the most rewarding, ennobling, and fruitful journey man will ever take.
Misc:
“The truth is that it is much more exhausting to seek happiness where you can never find it! However, when you yoke yourself to Jesus Christ and do the spiritual work required to overcome the world, He, and He alone, does have the power to lift you above the pull of this world.” (See talk above)
Invitation:
Consider the work you are doing. Are there any parts of it that you are just trying to power through on your own and not getting very far? Now consider areas where you are being blessed beyond your natural capacity. What is the difference? Are you trudging one path alone and the other alongside the Savior? Write down one area where you are trying to do it alone, and then list 2-4 ways that you could yoke up with the Savior to get back on track. Make plans to implement your conclusions.
