Week 55- What Helps You Receive Revelation?
Scriptures:
James 1:5
2 Ne 32:3
Moroni 10: 3-5
D&C 42:61
D&C 121:33
General Conference Address:
“Revelation for our Church, Revelation for our Lives” (President Russell M Nelson CR 4/2018)
Thought:
Think about the last time you received revelation. What were you doing to “qualify” for it? Was it a matter of constant prayer? Were you pondering on it constantly? Were you studying the words of Christ to try to find an answer? Were you in the temple more often? What were you doing to make it easier to receive revelation?
Now- what issues(s) preoccupy your mind right now? What keeps you up at night? In what area do you need revelation?-- Are you doing the things you need to do to receive revelation for that thing? What could change to help you get the answers you need?
Misc:
“Said President Lorenzo Snow, “This is the grand privilege of every Latter-day Saint … that it is our right to have the manifestations of the Spirit every day of our lives.” One of the things the Spirit has repeatedly impressed upon my mind since my new calling as President of the Church is how willing the Lord is to reveal His mind and will.” ( See address listed above)
Invitation:
“Pray in the name of Jesus Christ about your concerns, your fears, your weaknesses—yes, the very longings of your heart. And then listen! Write the thoughts that come to your mind. Record your feelings and follow through with actions that you are prompted to take. As you repeat this process day after day, month after month, year after year, you will “grow into the principle of revelation.” (See address listed above)
