Thought:

In the temple Endowment, we covenant to obey five specific laws. The first is foundational to the rest–The Law of Obedience. Why is there a specific law of obedience? Why isn’t it just an expectation? I believe one of the reasons that it’s a law is because laws are accompanied by promises. By living the foundational law, we obtain foundational blessings and begin to understand the pattern that we’ll need for each of the laws going forward. We also bind ourselves to act on what comes next. And there is much to come next!
