Thought:

One of the hardest things someone can do is take a step into the unknown to exercise their faith. But like most things, the reward is commensurate with the effort. It must have been terrifying for Peter to step off the boat into the boisterous wind and tossing sea. But as long as he focused on the Savior, he could do amazing things—miracles. When he began to doubt–to look around at the danger of it all–he fell. When he took his focus off the Savoir, he fell. But the Savior was still there to save him. Our charge is to invite people to get out of their boats and exercise greater faith. What got them there won’t keep them there. We need to invite them to exercise faith, often greater faith, even in very unsettling times and circumstances. We need to doubt not and fear not so that we can invite others to do the same. But make sure they are focused on the Lord and that they stay focused on him! If their faith isn’t rooted in him, they will fail.

Invitation:

How can we help more people exercise Peter- faith and get out of the boat? Prayerfully identify 5 friends who need to exercise more faith to see greater miracles in their lives. Pick one and make a plan to invite them accordingly.
