General Conference Address:
“How to Receive Revelation and Inspiration for your Personal Life” Elder Richard G Scott CR 4/2012
Thought:
“You’re much more likely to receive revelation about an individual while sitting on their couch than while sitting on your couch. -Pres Daniel J Wadley March 2023 Adult Session Stake Conference, Centerville UT.”
Misc:
“In 1995, Elder Boyd K. Packer shared an important lesson he had learned about revelation and 'place': “President Harold B. Lee told me once that inspiration comes easier when you can set foot on the site related to the need for it. With a very sincere desire to be guided in preparing what I should say to you, early Sunday morning, before you were about, I stood in the Maeser Building, and I found that President Lee was right!” (“The Snow White Birds,” Annual University Conference, August 1995)...."you are more likely to receive inspiration when you actually are in the place related to the need for the inspiration" (The Spirit of Revelation, Elder David A Bednar)
Invitation:
Identify 2-5 friends for whom you need to receive some revelation. What is their next step to grow their faith or to take another meaningful step on the gospel path? Write their names down and discuss with your companion what that invitation might be for each of them.. Then, pick a name or two and schedule some time to be with them. While you’re there, have a prayer in your heart about what other help they may need. When you finish your visit, write down any impressions that came during or as a result of your visit and discuss with your companion what you learned, and then make time to extend that invitation. Write your thoughts and discoveries in your journal.
