Week 95- “Playing Small” Doesn’t Benefit the World
Scriptures:
John 14
Matt 14: 27-36
Moses 1:6
General Conference Address:
“I Have a Work for Thee” Elder John C. Pingree Jr. CR 10/2017
Thought:
You have AMAZING potential. Divine potential. You have the opportunity to bless so many lives. But you can’t do that if you don’t live up to your potential. The more we prepare, the harder we work, and the better we follow the spirit, the more people we can help get back on the path. Much like the boy throwing starfish back into the ocean, we can’t help everyone, but we can help someone and the more diligent we are, the more we can help. Sitting on the bench, sleeping in, staying home, or not being around others won’t help. The more we do, the more we can help. We can see miracles. We can watch Alma 26:22 unfold before us, but only if we repent, exercise faith, bring forth good works, and pray continually without ceasing. It’s a big ask, but the Lord has big things in store for you. Don’t play small. Do many great things of your own free will (D&C 58: 26-27) and cheerfully do all things that lie in your power so that you can see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed (D&C 123:17).

Invitation:
Review your past and upcoming week. Where are you at risk of playing small? Where could you live up to your potential in order to make the biggest impact on those around you. Make plans to do and then execute your plan. Record the outcome in your journal.
